CAPITOL HILL ROWHOME
In tackling her own renovation, founder and principal of Sanabria & Co., Melissa Sanabria, sought to restore the historic charm that had been stripped from her family’s 1885 rowhome during a flip years before she purchased the home. The project was a complete gut renovation that reworked the home's layout, added character, and reintroduced details that feel like they've always been there.
Neutral walls paired with walnut and mahogany accents create contrast and keep the space feeling fresh. Vintage pieces and sentimental heirlooms tell meaningful family stories, and color and pattern are used with intention to add interest, balance, and a little fun. One of Sanabria's favorite features are the custom walnut and Turtle Green cabinets in the living room by Jewett Farms + Co, which flank the fireplace.
