LOCATION:

We recently completed a renovation of the main level of a rowhome in the Bloomingdale neighborhood in DC. This home was a flip purchased by a young couple whose goal was to bring character and charm back into the space.

In the kitchen, we tweaked the layout to maximize light and functionality. We created an arched opening to separate the kitchen from the dining room and added marble tile flooring for a classic feel. We opted for tonal blues and walnut for a contemporary touch. The pendant overhead pulls in deep red from their vintage rugs and textiles in the adjacent spaces.

For the rest of the floor, we added details like crown molding, window casing, sills, upgraded to taller baseboards, and also changed the stair parts. Adding back these thoughtful details is how we took the house from builder grade to special.
